Servo Motor Repair

Servo Motor Repair & Sales

Motor & Gear Engineering offers full repair service for all your servo motors. Our Mitchell-3000 servo motor repair testing equipment allows for diagnostics of encoders, resolvers and other repair needs. We can lead test Servo drives up to 250 In-LB with 2 Magtrol computerized Dynometers. The Dyno’s can dynamically load test servos to their rated torques, as well as applying custom load cycles.

Upon arrival, your servo will be disassembled & each part tested for damage & functionality. Worn parts will be identified and a quotation will be issued . Upon receipt of a PO, we can generally repair most servo motor in a 6 – 8 day period and also offer rush turnaround service for emergency situations. Our fully integrated motor, gear and machine shop means that work is done in-house, allowing for faster turnaround times. Once the device has been repaired, it will be reassembled and fully tested to ensure the repair meets Motor & Gear Quality standards.

Diagnostics and all servo motor repair will be performed inside a positive pressure, environmentally controlled "Clean Room", which removes dust & other particulates from the air. Inverter duty wire & Class H insulation are standard , allowing Motor & Gear to offer a 1-year warranty on rewinds.

We are also a Baldor distributor and can offer new servo replacements to you if your motor is beyond economical repair. We offer the BSM series from Baldor (N, C & R motors).

Baldor's BSM N-series provide industrial motion control applications with low inertia to attain the highest acceleration capability - to allow you to position rapidly. The BSM N-series is used in the world's fastest machines and demanding applications. The BSM C-series provides industrial motion control machines with an AC brushless servo motor with "higher" inertia – thus providing an excellent match for equipment requiring "higher" inertial matching. The goal of this series design was to increase torque while reducing package size (comparing to previous Baldor series). The result was a torque increase of up to 50% in some models, with a package reduction of up to 2 inches/50mm. The BSM-R provides industrial motion control machines with an AC brushless servo motor with "higher" inertia – thus providing an excellent match for equipment requiring "higher" inertial matching.
